Doula Visits (DAY)
As a postpartum doula, I support parents in their home after the birth of their baby. The sessions often end up as more of a consultation, and less baby care.
My daytime support includes:
- teaching parents best practices (i.e. how to bathe, how to swaddle, how to soothe)
- expert advice on newborn development, routines & sleep
- lactation support (i.e. getting a good latch, optimal milk supply)
- pumping support (i.e. flange fitting, learning your pump settings)
- baby wearing consults (you can practice with my various baby carriers!)
- care for the older sibling (I used to be a preschool teacher- I love toddlers!)
- providing referrals for local services & support groups
- hands-on care for the newborn while parents nap, shower etc.
- providing emotional support with warmth and empathy by listening, reassuring, & empowering
- and more!
Serving DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Carrot insurance accepted. $65/hr.
